Taking My Life Back
June 7, 2012 to June 30, 2012
Drew Tyndell, Derek Bruno & Benjamin Niznik
June 7th from 7 to 10 pm
Join us June 7th for the opening reception for Taking My Life Back. Taking My Life Back is a group show featuring the art of Drew Tyndell, Benjamin Niznik and Derek Bruno.
For these artists the exploration of shape, color, form, perspective, composition and creative and physical process informs their individual art while simultaneously creating a body of work collectively that reflects their shared ethos as creators. Minimal and modern, these artists' work will charm you with their simple complexity.
Benjamin Niznik has a small studio space above a bread bakery in Burlington, Vermont. This is a location to unwind creating self initiated projects and exploring shows of personal works.
Born in Atlanta GA, Christopher Derek Bruno is a maker above all other things. After his education in industrial design, Derek has moved about the country from Savannah to Portland then Brooklyn and finally to Seattle. He is currently stationed in a shop cultivating both his aesthetic and approach to the fabrication of sculpture based imagery. With a strong desire to address the concept of visual perception, Derek employs a high level of craft and attention to detail in his work, using simple shapes and compositions to place full focus on the perceptual questions at hand.
Drew Tyndell lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up with an architect father, the creative and physical processes of building a home were ingrained in him from a young age. He drew from these inspirations to create work that is an exploration of shape, form, and the relationship of the home to the land.
