SHOWS An Ounce of PowerMy current work is primarily monotype, prints that are jewel-like in their intensity of color and directly-conveyed emotion. Occasionally I embellish them by screenprinting, drawing or collaging on them. I enjoy monotypes for both their painterly qualities and their spontaneity of execution. I'm a big fan of painting, don't get me wrong, but for me the process of creating a painting seems too open-ended, dragging on forever and losing it's immediacy. My monotypes exist in the moment they were created and reflect the world as I experienced it then. For me they are an easy path to remembering a place, a thought, a moment in time.
